About Jonathan L. Foret, MD
Jonathan L. Foret, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with the team at the Center for Orthopaedics in Jennings and Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Dr. Foret is originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana. Dr. Foret is a graduate of St. Louis High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where he served as President of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of South Carolina Greenville Health System University Medical Center in Greenville, South Carolina. In Greenville, he worked closely with the renowned sports medicine group of Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas. During his residency, Dr. Foret also was involved in numerous research studies, including presentations on the research of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) use in total knee replacement and pediatric musculoskeletal infections.
Dr. Foret is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the LSUHSC medical alumni board and currently serves as the chairman of the Surgery Department at Christus Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital.
He joined the Center for Orthopedics as an Orthopedic surgeon in 2012. He treats orthopedic conditions of the upper and lower extremities, including arthritis, tendonitis, and fractures. He performs arthroscopic surgery and total joint replacement. He is a certified surgeon for the Mako Robotic-assisted joint replacement system. He also has a special interest in cartilage preservation and restoration procedures involving the knee.
